Based on Diversity Path Mesh™ technology, VEmesh™ is a mesh wireless network solution for distributed monitoring and data collection of sensor and metering systems, with a highly reliable and cost effective bi-directional communication.Like other mesh networks, all network nodes act as relays.What is unique to this solution is the absence of routing. All nodes relay the data they receive. This technique, called flooding, eliminates the management layer in the network, creating a system that is transparent to the application. As a result, the developer is asked to set several network parameters only; no management (or any other) software has to be developed. In addition, the system has no set-up procedure and adding, replacing or removing nodes does not cause downtime. The RF performance of the system is exceptional, because each packet of data propagates in all available paths, resulting in a very robust and reliable system. Hundreds of relaying steps (hops) are possible, creating a modular solution with a practically unlimited number of nodes and coverage area.
This is a Time Domain Multiple Access (TDMA) system which avoids any possibility of transmission collisions. More than that, it is synchronized to sub-bit level to allow simultaneous relaying from nodes (called Multicast or Collaborative Transmission); saving latency and increasing the power of the received relayed transmissions so the range and coverage are improved even further.
